Small Groups

If you're not quite convinced about why you would need something besides the Saturday services, read on! And even if you're already connected to a group, you can always use an encouragement or a reminder, right?

Here are the top reasons people join small groups, which are from actual people's first-hand experiences with small groups (really!):

Top four (real) reasons people join small groups

1. On Saturday, you will no longer feel like a stranger in the crowd at the Mission.
Attending a church can be a pretty daunting experience. We are all at different stages in our journey with God, so you are likely to find someone who feels like you do. In some ways you want people to recognize that you are looking for greater insight about God, however, you are not sure if you really want some stranger to start a random conversation with you. Don't worry; we have all been there at some point. Joining a small group allows you to choose the best course of study and allows you to study a variety of topics that may interest you. Also, this is a great way to meet new friends and get beyond small talk.

2. Your small group will be a great support for your journey of life.
Your small group can be your home away from home. Small groups operate as a close knit support system. This will be a group you can ultimately depend on. By joining a small group, you can rest assured that you will have a support system that will help you get through the hard times.

3. You will be challenged to grow spiritually in a small group.
Because of the nature of a small group, you will be challenged to make greater strides in your life. A small group can serve as a personal trainer or coach. They are there to encourage you, listen to your fears, and give you the resources to grow stronger.

4. You will be able to make a difference in others' lives.
You will notice that not only will your life start changing; you will become heavily invested in other people's lives. A small group helps prevent self-centredness. Your group will become a family that will look out for each other, and you will want to make a difference in the lives of these people.
